Choleric (kuh-lair-ik): A person who is choleric is a doer and a leader. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. Many great charismatic military and political figures were choleric. As their namesake states, choleric is the personification of individual frustration, ambassadors of an alternate reality. Choleric is the epitome of all that is powerful.

Indeed, choleric is the only way to define both the creative overtones and musical ambitions of this quartet. The conception of the band and the musical direction were both created by the drummer, Josh Villalta, and fueled by the creative force of Corey Katouli (guitars), Luca (vocals), and the final addition of Marcelo Dias (bass), choleric is coming right out of the gates swinging and ready to conquer the world.

Following the path of many previous successful and influential bands, choleric’s debut album, The Chosen, is nothing short of a masterpiece. The Chosen is a culmination of months of hard work and self-criticism - two and half years to be exact! As a result every song has a purpose and a direction.
The Chosen is was co-produced by choleric and several other key individuals (Eddie Wohl of Scrap 60 Productions - all vocals, Clint Lowery of Sevendust, Corey Lowery of Dark New Day, Tony Campos of Static-X, and Dave Chavarri of Ill Nino). The Chosen attempts to push the boundaries of heavy metal music with its ambition to reach outside of the metal community and into the homes of anyone that enjoys high energy music. This was an important goal for choleric, since they believe that metal is a genre of music that should be enjoyed by everyone and not just “metal heads”, such as themselves.
The Chosen is an eclectic mix of songs that range from thrash metal with songs like “Ungrateful One”, “Fueling My Insanity” and “Betrayal”, to dark power ballots “Feel Again” and “Echoes”. Other songs such as “Come Clean”, “The Chosen”, “From Death’s Embrace”, “Stolen Dreams”, “Fade Away”, Your Storm” and “We Rise” truly showcase the band’s unique ability to combine brutal riffs and percussive onslaught of heavy metal with melodic and catchy vocals of rock.
